Chinese Poets Cookie is an instrumental trio from Rio de Janeiro formed by Marcos Campello – electric and acoustic guitars / Felipe Zenicola - electric and acoustic basses / Renato Godoy - Drums. During the concerts, sometimes they improvise, sometimes they play strictly composed arrangements, always moving from one to the other in unbelievable ways.    For those anxious for comparisons, CCP combines many compound and hyped styles, such as Noise-Rock, Nu-Funk, Free-Prov, No-Wave, Out-Choro, Free-Jazz, Latin-Punk, Proto-Samba… Some claim that their music is extremely intense and visceral, sometimes elegant, while others classify it as nonsense, or naive aggressiveness. A few can even find it funny. They play their own material, or Tony Williams, Tom Waits, Eric Dolphy, Marc Ribot, John Zorn… Their first EP was released in november 2010.
