JAKOb MAERSk is a Belgian pop/punk rock quartet from Liège born in 2004 from the ashes of Nunk. <br><br> After several rehearsals with various singers, the line up is fixed in 2005. Then the band was named Jakob Maersk as the oil tanker which exploded off Portugal in 1975. <br><br> Jakob Maersk is a saturated guitar, a groovy bass, some dance rythms and a fucking good singer. Influenced by bands such as Nirvana, Bloc Party, Girls Against Boys or At The Drive In, the band members wants to deliver on stage: power, loudness, melody, spontaneity, a wide variety of emotions and a real rocknroll attitude. <br><br> In March 2006, they recorded a high power Ep available on I-tunes since July 2006 after they signed with the WAB in March 2006. The band played in Amsterdam (Winston Club), Paris (La Flèche d'Or), Brussels (DNA, De Kriekelaar),... <br><br> Jakob Maersk won in november 2006 the puredemo contest organized by the Court-circuit asbl and Pure fm. <br><br>
