TANG was formed during the Autumn of 1997 and established its first line-up during the winter of 2000. That time marked a renewal of activity for the outfit, and an ever-growing willingness to go forward with their music was born.The band released several demos, including a 3 track CD, given as a freebie, that astounded critics all over France. « TANG has a talent to grab your guts when the first chords are strummed, and the overall atmosphere is really emotional. »

The music of the band is continually refined and finds its identity with a lot of practice, and the discovery of new influences. The result blends into a mixture of the actual noise scene and the original emo scene. After scouring a great deal of venues in Northern France and Belgium, they choose to record their first album.

To do so, they opt for an offensive strike, choosing as a studio the LB LAB of S. Buriez (Loudblast) on the outskirts of Lille. EMOLUTION records will release it, and distribution will be handled by Overcome.

Soberly called « This Quietness Booms About On The Walls Like Birds In Panic », the album proposes 8 flabbergasting tracks, reflecting the potential of the band to transmit its emotions.

The record has been well received by the press. Reviews and interviews accumulate while the group continues to traverse France with more and more amazing live performances.

After more than 50 dates in 2004, Ismaël was forced to leave the band for professionnal reasons, and was replaced by Sébastien (ex Klang! / Shagma) who takes the second guitar.

A new album is on the way, and the group gains financial support from ‘Domaine Musiques’, which will allow TANG to record at the Studios Feeling in Tourcoing, with David Beckhandt. The mix will be done at the legendary Tonteknik Studios (Refused, The Hives…) in Umea (Sweden), with Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna).

« Another Thousand Days, Out Of This World » will be out on the 2nd of May 2006 on Emolution / Overcome Distribution. In between, TANG wins the support of « La Marmitte Nord-Pas de Calais » who offers them a show case at « La Maroquinerie » in Paris, and also from « L’Aéronef » in Lille, who offers them a week of residency, concluding by a showcase in front of more than 400 fans.

After more than 80 shows in a few monthes, from big festivals to small venues, including a selection for the Decouvertes du Printemps de Bourges 2007, france’s main showcase festival, they decide in 2008 to go back home to work on their 3 album, and to take the time they’ll need to make it good.

After writing new songs, their enter the Boss Hog Studio in northern France to record wth Clement Decrock (General Lee). Mastered by Bob Katz at Digital Domain, Usa, the third album will be called Dynamite Drug Diamonds.

Ready for a release in january 2012, the band hits the road again to defend their new tunes.
