"This music is in no way a commercial enterprise, but it's very good for you!"
(Iggy Pop, IGGY CONFIDENTIAL on BBC Radio 6)
The instrumental trio Nile On waX was formed at the initiative of violinist Catherine Graindorge (known for her collaborations with Iggy Pop, John Parish, Hugo Race, Pascal Humbert...), alongside David Christophe on bass and Elie Rabinovitch on drums.
"The trio's music defies classification and reveals an immediately recognizable identity—intense and hazy, somewhere between post-rock, jazz and psychedelia, a western soundtrack and a nocturnal urban stroll."
(Julien Broquet, LE VIF)
Since 2009, the group has released four albums and composed for dance (Charleroi Danse) and cinema (Karim Ouelhaj, Yves Dorme, Hal Hartley...).
A fifth album is currently in the works...

Bärlin defies genre boundaries. Borrowing deep and immersive soundscapes from cold wave and post-rock, the bass-clarinet/vocals-drums trio harbors an energy that is by turns punk and flamboyant, ready to sweep away everything in its path.
While the trio’s approach may recall the likes of Tuxedomoon, Morphine, Einstürzende Neubauten, or Portishead, they pursue a unique and timeless quest for which it would be hard to find an equivalent—especially on French soil. Acclaimed by both the music press (Rolling Stone, New Noise, Longueurs d'Ondes...) and mainstream media (Le Soir), their fourth album State of Fear gave them the opportunity to tour Europe once again, from Poland to the Iberian Peninsula.
