Calista est un jeune groupe namurois composé de Sophie Baudelet (Clavier, chÂœurs), Benoît De Greift (Guitare, chant), Pierre Meremans (Basse, chant), Jérémie Mortier (Batterie), et Damien Rixhon (Guitare, chant). Cinq membres aux influences des plus diverses, entre punk, électro et musique classique ... et une adhésion commune à un rock alternatif noisy proche de celui des groupes anglais et américains du début des années 90 (Slowdive, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Low, The Cure, ...) qui donne le coup d'envoi, courant 2002, à un travail soutenu de composition et de mise en place. <br><br> Tantôt noisy et agressives, tantôt dépouillées et mélancoliques, les compositions de Calista allient recherche mélodique, rage, et ambiances sonores, une mixture qui ne demande qu'à s'exprimer sur scène. C'est chose faite début de l'année 2003, grâce à un premier concert sur la scène de la fête de l'Université à Namur. Beaucoup de maisons de jeunes et de petits festivals permettent ensuite à Calista de prendre goût à la scène et au travail en groupe. <br><br> En août 2003, Calista se cloître à domicile pour y enregistrer Soon, première démo bouclée en trois jours et autant de nuits dans le but de décrocher quelques critiques et dates de concert. Fort des retombées positives engendrées par cette dernière - notamment une sélection pour le concours Verdur Rock - le groupe monte petit à petit sur de plus grosses scènes et s'offre des festivals tels que les Fêtes De La Musique de Louvain-La-Neuve (avec Flexa Lyndo, Millionnaire,Â…) ou Le Père Noël Est Un Rockeur, à Namur (avec San Remo et les Moon Invaders). <br><br> Un an plus tard, au théâtre Jardin Passion, le groupe se plie à l'enregistrement d'une deuxième démo plus aboutie et travaillée, donnant naissance à Twisterine, onze titres, sortie fin 2004. Dans la foulée, le groupe profitera de l'année 2005 pour étoffer les sets et se rôder sur des projections vidéos, Âœuvres du photographe Frédéric Oczczak<br> (Dubelgesurtestartines, pop-rock.be).

Legoparty started like any other band, in a dark wet cold basement.<br> To us, harmonious chaos has always been the answer. One day you start digging and finally realise that even if you keep on looking, something else is controlling the universe and there is no point trying to solve the ultimate question while the force of chaos will be dealing with you no matter what.<br> This brought us to write and play our music blissfully.<br> Born to be wild, mummy was a rolling stone, and if we could choose our roots, it would be in a southern desert growing up listening to Cohen in a Mustang.<br> Like it or not, our music is pain and pleasure, brandy on the rocks, burning. Basically the deal is that rock’n’roll is not just a human invention, it’s a permanent revolution forming itself with something fierce and wild. You can’t smell nor see it, but you can feel it, which makes it great to offer something uncontrollable.<br> To describe one’s own music is hard. Legoparty is just spontanious, with a taste for dandy elegance. It’s positively naïve and noisy garagerock with an attitude, not taking itself too seriously. Influences go from ‘60’s pop and rockabilly, with only a dash of electro and a lot of contemporary indiepoprock.<br> Get the picture ? The music of Couchgrass can be described as indie/alternative rock, but if you listen to it more carefully, you’ll hear some stoner influences as well. One of Couchgrass’ main characteristics is the symbiosis of Claude’s melodic, fast and precise bass lines and Dirk’s heavy and groovy drumming. Amy adds her warm, fragile voice, which is often shaken by passionate outbursts, screams and shrieks. Her stage presence is one of the most stunning ones in Luxembourg and often resembles eccentric, epileptic and hairy fighting techniques (do you get the picture?).<br> The two guitars, played by Claire and Vicky add the rest energy to the music: howling feedback, unusual notes, and simple but unique melodies complete Couchgrass’ raw and melancholic sound.
