Capillary Action is an American avant-rock/experimental music group formed at Oberlin College in 2004 by Jonathan Pfeffer, the group's sole constant member.
Capillary Action's music is characterized by its emphasis on structure, density, lush orchestration, disjointed melodies, distinctive chord progressions, and wide dynamic range. There is often a carefully constructed philosophy underpinning each release. Pfeffer cites Os Novos Baianos, Mercedes Sosa, Shudder to Think, Ornette Coleman, Kate Bush, Deerhoof, Converge, Rogerio Duprat, Jorge Ben, Bartok, Morton Feldman, and Phil Spector as major influences.
Capillary Action has exhibited a strong DIY ethic, inspired by SST-era punk, releasing records on its own label Natural Selection Records and touring relentlessly. The group has performed across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Europe alongside Beirut, Dirty Projectors, Les Claypool, Rhys Chatham, Shudder to Think, Joe Lally, and Dos, among many others.
In 2009, Boston Phoenix named Capillary Action the Best New Band from New York.
While the group has been based at various points in its career in Oberlin, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Seattle, Washington; and Brooklyn, New York, as of 2010, Capillary Action's current members-- percussionist Dan Sutherland, upright bassist Doug Stuart, accordionist Julian Chin, and trumpeter John DeHaven (Bon Iver)-- are spread across Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Chicago, Minneapolis, and San Francisco.
Whereas the band's first album reserved the middle for its most introspective moments, this one gives us the aggressive experiment "Badlands", which features the sounds of Pfeffer's breathing cut up and made into a brutal rhythm. It's one of several tracks to use extreme dynamic range to great effect.

K-branding is a trio composed of a drummer, a saxophonist and a guitarist. The music of K-branding is a sound between free jazz, noise, electro, no-wave and punk. The band was born in the beginning of 2004. The first aim of K-branding was to improvise in a punk rock style . After a while, effects take much place and the music becomes more experimental. The colour of K-branding was found.
In November 2004, K-branding recorded their first demo. Since March 2005, K-branding has given shows in great places like Dour Festival, VK, Rhaaa Lovely Festival, Bear Rock Festival, Recyclart, Magasin 4, ... The band has already played with Chinese Stars, L'Enfance Rouge, DAAU, Le Singe Blanc, Vandal X, Georges Leningrad, and many more.
