VITAS GUERULAITIS (BE/FR) Dada / Zouk
Vitas Guerulaitis

Vitas Guerulaïtis comprises three french activists who sought refuge in Brussels. One may wonder what brought the trio together as their drummer (David Costenaro) is an image editor who loves monoskiing and worships Jim Thompson, their keyboard player (Célia Jankowski) specialises in performance and studies the behaviour of flies, and their guitar player (Ismaël Colombani) is a mystical violin player who gives lectures once in a while.

Their debut album has been released on Cheap Satanism Records in conjunction with French label Tandori (Drive with a Dead Girl, Maria Goretti Quartet). Vitas Guerulaïtis are tightrope walkers who prefer to work without a net. They will even do the splits and achieve a subtle balance between dadaist punk and psychedelic kraut rock which will turn your skull upside down.

Enablers

Rounding out the line-up is drummer Sam Ospovat (Ava Mendoza, Brendan Seabrook, tUnE-yArDs, William Winant).

KEIKI (BE) Experimental / Pop
Keiki

KEIKI is made up of half-English female singer Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock and half-Italian guitarist Raphaël Rastelli. When she was 18, Dominique met Ronnie James Dio, Black Sabbath’s second vocalist. This was to affect her love life for years, as well as her approach to music. Her passion was transformed into love of doom metal and cats, among other things. In the early nineties, Raphaël sublimated his outbreak of acne by putting together Les Jeunes, a band which was part of cult collective La Famille. They were to shake the rebellious kids of Wallonia and beyond. When KEIKI was founded in the noughties, their music had shifted from major to minor mode (”True heaviness lies in minor chords” claimed Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath). Today one feels that it combines a wide range of influences:

P.J. Harvey, Beastie Boys, Enon, Add N to X, Dead Kennedys and even Venom.

It may seem like a simple recipe: steady vocals, striking guitar riffs, beat boxes programmed in “step” mode only and, most of all, the supernatural sounds of the theremin – an instrument as hard to tame as a wild horse. But simple, it is not. It’s straightforward, catchy and groovy.

KEIKI will release its third album on Cheap Satanism Records released in february 2012. The album will be preceded by a single "Full Body Wolf" which features Pete Simonelli from ENABLERS.

ZËRO

The first album “Joke box” is born from the ashes of Bästard and Narcophony. The 2d album “Diesel dead machine” goes straight in, we can feel that the band toured a lot, the vital energy of the live shows is here restored with ardour.

No need for high-tech to make this work. Everything is done just the way a live performance should be done with a group that is both rigorous and laid back, the sound being the only motive for perfectionism and determination. All you have to do to understand this is to see them in concert. It’s undoubtedly alive that Zëro’s message unveils the way they see the rock “genre”: with total freedom of expression, a mix of cultures and influences where the early Devo’s punk, Sun Ra’s jazz and Captain Beefheart’s blues are not far from being completely assimilated.

Influences
Deity Guns, Bästard, Narcophony, Spade & Archer

INSECT ARK (US) Experimental / Doom / Psychedelic / Instrumental
Insect Ark

Ominous, desolate, and fearlessly unique, INSECT ARK is the Berlin-based duo of American artists Dana Schechter (also a member of SWANS) and Tim Wyskida (also a member of KHANATE).
The band’s brutal and lush fourth full-length “Raw Blood Singing” was released June 2024 on Debemur Morti Productions.
The album marks a rebirth for Insect Ark, with a crushing weight and vicious sensual delicacy elevated by the all-new addition of Schechter’s smoky, bruised-angel vocals.
Since 2024, the live band has played as a trio with Berlin-based musician Lynn Wright on Lap Steel and Electric guitars for tours in Europe/UK/US.
