Mutilation Rites was conceived in Brooklyn, New York, by Justin Ennis and Michael Dimmitt in January 2009. To date, they have released two eps, two full-lengths, and GIlead Media is putting out their third full-length, entitled Chasm, in March 2018. After numerous line-up changes the band now consists of George Paul (guitar and vocals), Ryan Jones (ex-Today is The Day, bass and vocals), Michael Dimmitt (guitars), and Tyler Coburn (drums, from Yautja). Mutilation Rites is a black metal band, but each release has flirted with influences from doom, thrash, rock ‘n’ roll and now on the upcoming release, death metal has crept into the sound. This new release debuts Coburn on the drums, significantly affecting the overall sound, allowing further exploration into new musical territories

De Doden Hebben het Goed is Wiegedood’s debut album, but we can hardly call this a debuting band. The band members have already proven their worth in other acts like Amenra, Oathbreaker, Hessian, Rise and Fall… This is surely an interesting gathering of musicians that immediately raises high expectations. And they deliver. Big time. Against all expectations, the result of this collaboration has nothing to do with post metal, sludge or hardcore. In stead, Wiegedood treats us to a relentless onslaught of atmospheric black metal. The music might be categorized in vain of the cascadian black metal wave from the US, but they bring their European twist into the mix. The title De Doden Hebben het Goed covers the album perfectly: it’s a very bleak take on extreme metal music, but never loses touch with the band members’ other projects.

ZARDENS IS A BLACKENED DEATH METAL BAND.

Active on the Belgian metal scene since 1996 with Moribund (black metal) and, later, Ex Delirium (thrash), Warnacht created ZARDENS in 2008 with the desire to offer a blackened death metal
representing a synthesis of his old school metal influences, mainly Scandinavian bands of the 90s.

The band released its first album, ‘’Breeding The Dark’’, in February 2012 and had the privilege of
playing with the veterans of American death metal band Immolation during their ‘’Summer Invasion Tour’’.

Zardens recorded his second album, ‘’Blackness Unfolds’’, in May 2013 but the other three members left the band soon after.

During the summer of 2014, Dimitri (bass) and Morholt (vocals) joined Zardens, Kevin (drummer of the Belgian bands Aktarum, Cocyte and Marrow of Kaladrius) and Flocky Hardy (rhythm guitar ; also playing in Mutisme and ex-Sercati) completed the team later. Motivated and united, the new line-up wants to give a fresh boost to the band.

‘’Blackness Unfolds’’ has been released on 18 April 2015 on Russian label Satanath Records in collaboration with Death Portal Studio. It offers a completed job, with songs both aggressive and melodic and with effective and catchy riffs.
