The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble (NYSJE) is an internationally renowned recording and touring group. Since the bands inception in 1994, they have released five CDs and they have performed regularly throughout Europe, Canada, USA, and South America.

NYSJEs recordings and performances have garnered them critical acclaim for their high energy, creative originals, kinetic ska interpretations of jazz standards, as well as their potent mix of dance hall, reggae, rock steady and jazz. Performance highlights include: The North Sea Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, The Quebec Festival de Musique, Musiques en Ete (Geneva), The Bob Marley Reggae Festival with Israel Vibration and Sister Carol, and The Discover and Bell Atlantic Jazz festivals in the U.S. In addition, NYSJE has the singular distinction of being the first American Ska band to play in Poland after the wall came down.

The band had been featured in Downbeat, Reggae Nucleus, The Beat, Ragga and Jazziz magazines. NYSJE s music can be heard regularly on television-- on the Nickelodeon network, MTVs Road Rules, as well as two nationally airing Campbells Soup Commercials. In Italy, their video, Properly, airs on MTV.

NYSJEs albums are distributed by Stomp Records in Canada, Megalith Records in the U.S., and Grover, Alternative+Brixton Records in Europe. This past summer(08) the band stormed through Europe once again playing 42 shows in Hungary,Czech Republic,France,Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Lithuania, Belgium,Switzerland,Germany, Spain, Denmark, Finland and more! The band returns this December for shows all over Europe. NYSJE has just released their latest cd STEP FORWARD to rave reviews worldwide and will be releasing LIVE IN PARIS in December.

Groupe aux facettes multiples, Freddy Loco & The Gordo's Ska Band tire ses influences du ska et du rock steady. Tout a commencé en 2002, avec Manu (clavier) et Fred (trompette), au moment où la musique prenait un place de plus en plus importante dans leur vie. A l'époque le groupe se nommait : Magwalé Freedom. Ensuite, Laurent (batterie), Gontran (basse), Artémissia (trombone), Rémy (sax) et Lin (chant) les ont rejoint et Freddy Loco And The Gordo's Ska Band est né.

Depuis 2004, ils ont donné plus de 150 concerts à travers le Benelux et la France. La formation sera complétée exceptionnellement par Mr. T-Bone, tromboniste italien de renom. Depuis 2003, ils se sont produits dans 13 pays européen tel que la France, l'Italie, l'Allemagne, la Hongrie ainsi qu'aux USA. L'année 2009 est pour lui, celle d'une important tournée à travers l'Europe et l'Asie (Singapour, Malaisie, Japon).

Pas pour rien que Kevin Batchelor (The Skatalites !!!) et Sydney Mills (Steel Pulse) aient collaboré et enregistré avec Freddy Loco.
