Peter Kernel

Peter Kernel is a Swiss Canadian art-punk band formed by Aris Bassetti (guitar, voice, graphic designer) and Barbara Lehnhoff (bass, voice, filmmaker). Inspired by a love story, they play music anyone can play in an attempt to’ satisfy man’s basic human instinct: a beat, something loud and a few words. Primary rock.
The band initially got together in 2005 to write the soundtrack for the experimental musical Like A Giant In A Towel (Locarno International Film Festival 2006), directed by bass player Barbara.
Throughout the years Peter Kernel shared stages with inspiring bands such as Mogwai, Trans Am, Cat Power, Enon, Blonde Redhead, Shannon Wright, Wolf Parade, Why?, Twin Shadow, Wild Beasts, Trentemøller, The Notwist, Sunset Rubdown, Gregor Samsa and many more…and performed at clubs and festivals such as Hmv Forum (London), Thekla (Bristol), Glee (Birmingham) 59 :1 (Munich) Point Ephèmere (Paris), Soundlabs Festival (Abruzzo), Paleo Festival (Nyon), Bad Bonn Kilbi (Düdingen), Cully Jazz Festival (Cully) and many more…

ZOFT (BE) Noise / Math Rock
Zoft

Zoft is a drum/guitar duo from Brussels. They also uses sound sculptures and home made instruments, and sometimes they scream into cheap distorded microphones... All these instruments produces light, so the whole performance is exclusively lihgtened by the music in order to create a loud and cosy intimate ambiance. Their music is energic, heavy and joyfully rythmically twisted and could be described as a mix of jazzcore, free-math-metal and cheap movie tunes.  The band was formed in 2008 and was a trio at the beginning. (with a tuba player). Now they play as a duo and have the wish to work as a plateforme where any musicians who wants to join is welcomed, in a kind of free jazz spirit.

VITAS GUERULAITIS (BE/FR) Dada / Zouk
Vitas Guerulaitis

Vitas Guerulaïtis comprises three french activists who sought refuge in Brussels. One may wonder what brought the trio together as their drummer (David Costenaro) is an image editor who loves monoskiing and worships Jim Thompson, their keyboard player (Célia Jankowski) specialises in performance and studies the behaviour of flies, and their guitar player (Ismaël Colombani) is a mystical violin player who gives lectures once in a while.

Their debut album has been released on Cheap Satanism Records in conjunction with French label Tandori (Drive with a Dead Girl, Maria Goretti Quartet). Vitas Guerulaïtis are tightrope walkers who prefer to work without a net. They will even do the splits and achieve a subtle balance between dadaist punk and psychedelic kraut rock which will turn your skull upside down.

ED WOOD JR (FR) Math Rock / Alternative
Ed Wood Jr

Inspired by Don Caballero, Battles, or From Monument To Masses, Ed Wood Jr hits where it’s surprising. Between samples and guitars loops, between equations and pure energy, the two pieces band from Lille ethereal atmospheres, pierced tight and psychotic passages.
But beyond the complex structures combining syncopated rhythms and mathematics passages, Ed Wood Jr is foremost a rock band.
Created in 2008, the band has been busy: an EP in april 2008 and a first album “Ruban de Möbius” (Swarm records) on May 2010. They toured in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, England, Belgium, Spain and France of course to arrive at the output of a second album in Novem- ber 2011.
This activism has allowed them now to be recognized by specialists as one of the best bands of the french rock scene…
