REIZIGER (BE) Emo / Indie / Rock
Reiziger

We could rant about their history hailing from the early 90’s post hardcore band Kosjer D., or recently Confuse The Cat & Bronze. Their stories across Europe or about their jobs in the social sector and their deal with Stickman Records … but no … let’s try to focus on their impact on the listener by means of a couple of statements.

Reiziger touches your emotion. Easily switching from subdued melancholy to youthful enthusiasm, from restrained contemplation to razor-sharp paroxysms of anger, shifting from feather-light poptunes to a massive dead swing sound but nonetheless always keeping their specific touch. Reiziger is a band. No exasperating individualism, no freaky soloing, the whole is much more than the sum of 4 individuals. Reiziger is beyond a band. Managing to combine escapism with harsh realism!  Reiziger is Reiziger. Unique in sound, unique in word, unique in style.

Enemies

Enemies formed in the summer of 2007 in the village of Kilcoole, County Wicklow, Ireland which has been a epicentre for DIY independent music in Ireland over the last few years with bands like Adebisi Shank, Kidd Blunt and Heathers first forging their sound in the area.

In Spring 2008, encouraged by that burgeoning local scene, Enemies released their debut EP « Alpha Waves » which led to two Japanese labels Machu Picchu Industries and Stiff Slack picking up the band for releases. A two-week tour of Japan followed in which they played sold-out shows in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Kyoto.

Back closer to home, the band played gigs in the UK and Ireland on bills with bands like And So I Watch You From Afar, Bats, Not Squares, Marvins Revolt and Blaksfish. The quartet followed their debut EP with a free double-A side single.

In June 2010, Enemies released their debut LP. Released by Richter Collective in the UK & Ireland and Stiff Slack in Japan, ‘We’ve Been Talking’ features pressings of the band’s own unique take on instrumental rock, one which is nuanced yet clear cut, melodic yet ferocious and energetic yet emotive.

MNEMOTECHNIC (FR) Math Rock / Dance / Rock
Mnemotechnic

Mnemotechnic are a distorted, electric-tornado of a band. Based in Brest, France the three-piece articulate expertly the mathier elements of the dance-rock genre. Recalling At The Drive-In, Refused and Sonic Youth their sound distills The Rapture’s most intense moments and Nirvana’s grooviest. Piercing, high vocals punctuate visceral, off-beat drumming, which Les Inrockuptibles describe as “Shrill and convulsive rock that makes you dance like you have a gun to your head”. We cannot disagree.
Debut album ‘Awards’ was recorded by Miguel Constantino and mixed by StéphaneLaporte. Emerging from the studio in 2011 after working with some of the best engineers in France, Mnemotechnic unleashed their live assault, becoming club and festival circuit favourites in both France and Belgium. Coupled with a frightening, raspberry-induced meltdown of a promo video; Mnemotechnic could be easily described as France’s new Nine Inch Nails.

Croupier

Croupier' are a five-piece from Co. Wicklow incorporating broad influences, from Talk Talk to The Redneck Manifesto to Liars, into a collaborative musical effort that defies basic categorisation. This is energetic, melodic, purposeful music that refuses to exist within a vacuum.

Consisting of Charlie Mooney (guitar and vocals), Harry Burton (keyboard, piano and vocals), Niall O'Kelly (drums), Oisín Murphy (vocals and guitar) and Rob Reid (bass), Croupier are five friends with differing musical backgrounds, foregrounds and convictions, who have come together in shared purpose: to make music which speaks of themselves and, hopefully, speaks to some.
