SLY & THE FAMILY DRONE + LEAN LEFT (THE EX GUITARS MEET NILSSEN-LOVE/VANDERMARK DUO) + IIVII + PALSEMBLEU
Avant-Garde / Noise

Using only drums and processed cassettes, and incorporating many elements of avant-garde music and sound art in their realisation, Sly & The Family Drone are a primal orchestra of drum rhythms, radiophonic oscillator noise and electronically-abstracted vocals. They forge hypnotic, textural workouts in the vein of Black Dice, Shit & Shine and Crash Worship.
Sly's reductionist take on music is literal; they split their drum kit to its singular base units, passing individual drums to the audience who maintain the beat while they free themselves for more noise and freestyle mayhem, ultimately eliminating any boundaries between spectator and performer. This egalitarian approach propels audience and band together into a shamanistic setting of catharsis and anarchic celebration. By the end of the set their drums and equipment are scattered; the remnants of their music lying bare across the floor.
There is no place for guitars within this band.
"Their live shows are becoming legendary. Things usually get broken. There will be more than likely blood. A must see live experience. No gig by Sly & The Family Drone is ever the same." Club Velocity 2011
The ampersand is obligatory.
LEAN LEFT (THE EX GUITARS MEET NILSSEN-LOVE/VANDERMARK DUO)
Avant-Garde / Noise Rock / Free / Jazz

Lean Left is a free jazz band.
Terrie Hessels and Andy Moor, guitars; Paal Nilssen-Love on drums, Ken Vandermark plays tenor sax and Bb clarinet
They play completely improvised music that combines the freer elements of the Ex with the thorough communication developed in the years that Nilssen-Love and Vandermark have worked together; everything put into a hard edged groove kaleidoscope.

The solo project of visual artist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, Josh Graham.
Founding member of Red Sparowes and Battle of Mice, Graham currently plays in A Storm of Light, and has also made appearances with Jarboe, Blood and Time, Tombs, Syndrome, Fallen Black Deer, and Tribes of Neurot.
Live shows will mix guitar, analogue and digital keyboards, cassette loops, and more. Select live performances also welcome multi-instrumentalist Will Lindsay to the mix. Will is a longtime collaborator in A Storm of Light, and his resume includes Indian and Wolves In the Throneroom.
IIVII focuses on sonically engulfing and moody soundscapes, layered with a science-fiction edge. This approach has allowed Josh to expand his sonic body of work and explore new electronic territory, focusing on the subtle orchestration and manipulation of dense sonic atmospheres, rather than the bombastic approach found in A Storm of Light.
Depicting a derelict space colony in view of Saturn, the artwork was also completed by Graham, who currently serves as art director to Soundgarden, and has also worked with many bands including, Neurosis, Jesu, Shrinebuilder, Sleep, Vattnet Viskar, and ISIS.
