HOUSEWIVES are a genreless band from London who play experimental music thatpoints to the future. Using prepared guitars, electronics, percussion and saxophonethey create an enveloping sound of syncopated rhythms and antithetical songstructures. Droning bass lines underpin ethereal samples, whilst precise guitar linesmix with minimal drum parts in ecstatic fashion.Their kinetic live sets have cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting livebands in Europe; championed by the likes of Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6 Music), Radio3 Late Junction and pioneering experimental musician Charles Hayward (This Heat). They join the like of Liars, Animal Collective and The Knife in laying the gauntlet forexperimental music this decade and pushing the boundaries of what a live band cando.

(the) Kurws formed in May 2008 as an unexpected result of a ping pong session. Since then they have pursued their own search, not so much in defined genres, but within the very foundations of rock, expression, and sound. It is a workshop where improvisation penetrates through composed material, a congealed form of the creation process. Armed with repetitions, recombinations, variations and contrasts, they frolic with memory and expectations. Post punk, krautrock, rock in opposition, funk, no wave - they present modes of playing, motives, and riffs we have heard time and time again in a totally different context, dissected from their original environment, placed side by side, used in a brand new manner, deconstructed and distilled.
